The Giants acquired Rajai Davis and a player to be named from the Pirates Tuesday in exchange for Matt Morris. Davis hit .271 with five steals in 48 at-bats this year with the Bucs. He hit .318 with 27 steals in his time at Triple-A Indianapolis. Davis doesn't figure to get a lot of playing time down the stretch for the Giants.

The Pirates center field situation seems unclear following the promotion of Rajai Davis. "Please don't quote me as saying they are in a platoon situation, because you will be wrong," manager Jim Tracy tells the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette. But who is the starter? Davis or Chris Duffy? "We're going to try to create opportunities for both guys and find out, over the next several days, what makes sense," Tracy adds.

Rajai Davis, who was in the middle of a 21-game hitting streak for Triple-A Indianapolis, was recalled by the Pirates on Monday night, according to the AP. Davis, who was hitting .318 with four homers and 30 RBI in 53 games for Indianapolis, is likely to platoon with Chris Duffy in center field for at least the short term after joining the Pirates in Washington on Tuesday.
