Mike Jacobs was acquired by the Kansas City Royals on Thursday for relief pitcher Leo Nunez, less than 24 hours after the World Series ended, according to the Associated Press.

Even though a Royals deal for first baseman Mike Jacobs was nixed by the Marlins due to health concerns of the minor league pitcher they would have received in return, the teams are still trying to work something out, according to the Kansas City Star.

Marlins first baseman Mike Jacobs is only one home run away from the Marlins record for homers by a lefty. On Tuesday night, it looked like Jacobs was going to get the record when he hit a fly ball over 430 feet, but it was to the deepest part of the park at Dolphin Stadium and went for a double, according to MLB.com.
