Shaun Marcum will have surgery Wednesday to repair a torn meniscus in his right knee, according to the AP. He aggravated the injury during his start on Saturday. Marcum is expected to need 4-6 weeks to recover, so this shouldn't be an issue by the time spring training rolls around.

Shaun Marcum left his Saturday start in the fourth inning due to a sore right knee, the AP reports. He's expected to have an MRI on the knee this weekend, and obviously his status for the remainder of the year is very much in doubt. The knee has been bothering him for a while.

Shaun Marcum left Sunday's game after three innings with tightness in his back. Marcum allowed three runs in three innings before exiting. The Blue Jays don't think the injury is serious, and they expect Marcum to be able to make his next start.

Shaun Marcum will replace the injured Victor Zambrano in the Blue Jays rotation on Sunday against the Devil Rays. He has a 6.06 ERA and 1.41 WHIP in 13 relief appearances this season, though he has 22 strikeouts in 16 1/3 innings. With B.J. Ryan done for the season, Marcum could still get a chance in late innings at some point, but for now, he'll get a look as a starter.

With B.J. Ryan on the disabled list, Shaun Marcum picked up the save against the Tigers on Sunday, throwing a perfect ninth inning. However, this was likely just a one-time thing, as Jason Frasor has been named the club's interim closer - he was just unavailable after throwing 30 pitches in Saturday's game.
