Player Notes
August 9, 2008
Though he signed a three-year, $24 million contract extension in April, Kenji Johjima has played poorly this season, and has not seen the field since August 4, as Jeff Clement has become the regular catcher, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
July 10, 2008
With the release of Richie Sexson, it's possible Kenji Johjima could see some time at first base, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer.
May 26, 2008
Kenji Johjima finally quit looking over his shoulder and broke out of his 1-for-19 slump on Sunday. The starting catcher had two huge hits against the Yankees.
May 21, 2008
Kenji Johjima will yield to backup Jamie Burke on Wednesday, according to the Seattle Times. Manager John McLaren said he wanted to match the pitching and catching batteries that work together when he can. The manager apparently thinks Burke meshes well with Jarrod Washburn. Johjima will be back in the lineup for tomorrow's day game.
May 17, 2008
Kenji Johjima went 2-for-4 and delivered a two-run homer in Friday's 6-4 loss to the Padres.
