The suffered a rough 5-2 loss to the Boston Red Sox, giving LHP Glen Perkins , who put forth a valiant but tainted effort, his first loss of the season. Perkins pitched six innings, allowing three runs (all earned) on nine hits, walking none and striking out three.

Glen Perkins is the most logical candidate to replace the injured Scott Baker in the Twins rotation, if in fact Baker isn't able to take his turn this week. Baker's threw a two-hitter to win his first game of the season a week ago Saturday for Triple-A Rochester. He allowed one walk and struck out seven.
