Glen Perkins was activated from the disabled list on Tuesday. He had been out with a strained left shoulder. He'll work out of the bullpen for the remainder of the season, and there's no reason to pay him any attention in fantasy.

Glen Perkins began a rehab program Thursday for his starined left shoulder. However, he experienced soreness, which has the Twins concerned, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. If the soreness persists, he may be shut down and go see team doctors. If not, he'll continue trying to rehab.

Glen Perkins suffered a setback in his recovery from a strained left shoulder when he lasted just one inning during a rehab start Saturday. "As the trainer told me, he thinks it's probably back to square one," manager Ron Gardenhire told the St. Paul Pioneer Press. "That's a long ways back." He likely won't even pick up a ball for a couple of weeks, which means it's no longer certain that he will even be available for the Twins until late this season, if at all.

Glen Perkins underwent an MRI on Thursday that confirmed that he has a muscle strain in his pitching shoulder. According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, Perkins will miss at least two weeks while rehabbing the injury. “We really dodged a bullet,” Twins general manager Terry Ryan said. “It could have been a lot worse.”

Perkins is scheduled to fly back to Minnesota on Wednesday and undergo an MRI exam on Thursday to determine the severity of the muscle strain he suffered during Monday’s loss to the Rangers. Perkins, one of the team's top prospects, lost out on a rotation spot to Sidney Ponson. The team optioned catcher Chris Heintz to Rochester to make room on the roster.

Glen Perkins looked good in his first start of the spring Sunday, working three innings and allowing an unearned run. Apparently, he's actually in the mix for a spot at the back of the Twins rotation, according to the Pioneer Press. Matt Garza, Boof Bonser, Kevin Slowey and Sidney Ponson are the others in the mix for the last two spots, though Bonser appears to have the edge at this point for the one of the spots.
