Kendry Morales has been sent down to the minors, according to MLB.com. Chris Bootcheck is battling the flu, and the team called up a pair of relievers (Rich Thompson and Jose Arredondo) to add depth to the pen.

The Angels have decided to add a bench player and reduce their 25-man roster to 11 pitchers, this according to the team website. LA will call-up Kendry Morales for the first time this season from Triple-A Salt Lake.

Kendry Morales connected for a two-run homer in the 2nd inning of today’s Cactus League loss for the Angels against the White Sox, according to the Associated Press. Morales displayed solid potential in a limited time in the Show last season and now hopes to take his game to the next level. Today, he showed the power the Angels hope will become a regular item on their hitting menu.
