Player Notes
March 9, 2008
Chris Roberson enjoyed another solid day at the plate as he went 2-for-3, while picking up his third RBI. He needs to continue to perform well if he expects to make the Orioles, who have one of the deepest outfields in the league, especially since adding Luke Scott.
February 14, 2008
Chris Roberson cleared waivers on Wednesday and was outrighted to the Orioles Triple-A affiliate in Norfolk, according to the team's official website. Roberson was acquired in early January from the Phillies for cash considerations.
January 2, 2008
Chris Roberson was shipped to the Orioles Wednesday in exchange for cash considerations, according to the AP. He spent most of last year at Triple-A Ottawa, hitting .266 with four home runs, 48 RBI and 19 stolen bases in 113 games. Roberson will serve as a utility outfielder in Baltimore.
August 23, 2007
Chris Roberson was optioned to Triple-A Wednesday, making room for Geoff Geary on the roster. Roberson had four hits in his first game with the Phillies a few weeks back, but he was just 2-for-20 since and wasn't needed now that Shane Victorino is healthy again.
August 1, 2007
Chris Roberson was recalled from Triple-A Tuesday and wound up starting in right field at Chicago, going 4-for-4 with a stolen base. Roberson has having an ordinary year in the minors (.266 average, .356 slugging), so we're not going to expect much here. He'll get some outfield time while Shane Victorino and Michael Bourn are out.
