Player Notes
June 12, 2008
Infielder Robert Andino has been recalled from Triple-A Albuquerque, according to MLB.com. Struggling outfielder Jacque Jones has been designated for assignment, and Andino fills his spot on the roster.
April 1, 2008
Robert Andino gave the Marlins an extra-inning win over the Mets Tuesday, blasting a walk-off homer in the bottom of the 10th. He had entered the game in the top of the inning to play third, though he is naturally a shortstop. Andino earned a roster spot as a result of Alejandro De Aza's injury. He put up some pretty good numbers last year in Triple-A, but the 23-year-old won't be a fantasy asset so long as Hanley Ramirez is around.
March 24, 2007
The Marlins optioned Robert Andino to Triple-A Albuquerque on Friday, according to the Miami Herald. He was slowed this spring by a back injury and just returned to action on Wednesday.
March 22, 2007
Robert Andino played yesterday for the first time since injuring his back on March 10, according to the Miami Herald. "I'm about 85 percent still," Andino said. "It's still a little tight when I go to bend down."
March 18, 2007
Robert Andino's back is still sore from last week's collision with Alfredo Amezaga, according to the Miami Herald. There is no timetable for Andino's return.
