Yuniesky Betancourt probably will not play on Saturday, according to the Seattle Times. After being hit by a pitch on Thursday, he was diagnosed with a bruise on the bone of his right leg. He should be ready for Sunday's contest, though.

Yuniesky Betancourt was out of the lineup Friday, a day after leaving the game in the ninth inning after being hit in the right knee with a pitch, according to the AP. Manager Mike Hargrove was optimistic that Betancourt would be able to play soon. "I think it's reasonable to think tomorrow," Hargrove said. "If not tomorrow, then Sunday for sure. But that's just a guess. It's really a day-to-day thing."

Yuniesky Betancourt left Thursday's game in the ninth inning after being hit in the right knee with a pitch, the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reports. The Mariners would be lucky to get him back by Sunday, though it wouldn't be a surprise if he didn't play until next week. "I'm just happy it's not as bad as I thought it might be," Betancourt said.

Yuniesky Betancourt was moved up to second in the Mariners' batting order on Sunday, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. "He's swinging the bat real well ... we'll give it a shot and see what happens," manager Mike Hargrove said. "I don't necessarily want to have to do that, and I don't anticipate doing that more than just tonight. But if Betancourt swings the bat the way he has been, it gives him at least one more at-bat in the game." Betancourt hadn't been higher in the order than seventh this season.

The Mariners consider shortstop Yuniesky Betancourt a candidate to bat second in the order this season, according to the Seattle Post-Intelligencer. If Betancourt doesn't bat second, he will certainly bat eighth or ninth.
