July 20, 2008
The Mets left RHP Mike Pelfrey on the mound despite struggles today, and in the end the team found the win, 7-5, over the Reds. Pelfrey pitched seven innings, allowing five runs (all earned) on six hits with one walk and four strikeouts.

The AP reports that Mike Pelfrey will start in Pedro Martinez's place on Sunday. Pelfrey hasn't allowed a run in his last 16 innings.

Mike Pelfrey has been named the NL Player of the Week, according to the NY Daily News. Pelfrey earned the honor by hurling 15 scoreless innings in wins over the Giants and Rockies.

Mike Pelfrey was over-the-top good again leading the Mets to a 7-0 victory over the Colorado Rockies on Sunday night. It was the Mets ninth win in a row leaving them just a half a game behind NL East leader Philadelphia.
