| September 21, 2006 Although the Astros have yet to officially announce it, it appears that Matt Albers will start for them on Sunday against St. Louis, according to the Houston Chronicle. "He's going to have to pitch a lot more," manager Phil Garner said of Albers. "He's got a good enough sinker where I think the first time around the lineup he could throw nothing but fastballs and throw them down. He's got a power sinker. It's late, and it's deceptive." Albers holds an ERZ of 6.00 in four games (two starts) for the Astros this year. Albers posted a 12-3 record and 2.49 ERA in 23 Double- and Triple-A starts. |
