Melky Cabrera and the Yankees avoided a three-game series sweep by KC with a 6-1 win on Thursday night. Cabrera tied the game after the Royals took a 1-0 lead, with a solo homer in the third. The Yankee outfielder finished the game 2-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI.

Melky Cabrera has had his suspension, which sprung from a bench-clearing brawl in spring training, reduced from three to two games, according to the NY Daily News.
