He is feeling weak and dizzy and is having trouble hearing out of his right ear. He commented, "I got it in Boston, haven't gotten better since then. The move to the outfield and the Brewers 5-1 start has had a lot to do with his early season sophomore success.

Braun hammered a high fastball into the seats off of Kevin Correia and also collected a single on the day as he upped his batting average to .261. Braun continues to have the look of a man gunning for the number two spot amongst NL third baseman behind David Wright.

Nothing less than a .300-35-120 season is expected from Braun this season, though in order to reach that level it would be nice to see him work on his plate discipline as he still strikes out too often without taking enough walks.

Braun has been nursing a tight Achilles tendon and has been a concern for Milwaukee as the regular-season approaches. He's played just once since March 11th due to the soreness in his right heel, which the team believes was brought on by a pair of rouge spikes. "Braunie should be back playing Thursday," manager Ned Yost said. "He felt better [Monday] ... and they think it was his shoes. They've got him in some orthotics that alleviate some of the [stress]. He's on the rebound. He's going to be OK."

Hopefully, he'll shake this off quickly and get back in action this week.

Ryan Braun missed another game Sunday due to lingering tightness in his right Achilles tendon, according to MLB.com. "We don't know what's bringing it on," manager Ned Yost said. "It might be a new pair of shoes that he put on. It might be an exercise program that he was doing. He's got stiffness in his Achilles and there's no sense taking chances. ... I don't see it to be anything major." It may not be major right now, but it's becoming a little concerning. Braun missed games Wednesday, Thursday, Saturday and today due to the ailment. He got into Friday's game, but clearly this is something that will need to be monitored closely in the coming days.

Ryan Braun will bat cleanup this season behind Prince Fielder, this according to MLB.com. "They're gonna pitch around Prince, just because of Prince's intimidation factor," said manager Ned Yost. "They're not gonna pitch around Prince too long with me behind him," said Braun. While this bodes well for Fielder, it could be considered a bit of a letdown for Braun who must become more selective at the plate as pitchers will certainly try to get him to expand his already large zone with Brewers on base.

Ryan Braun's agent, Nez Balelo, has had preliminary discussions with Brewers assistant GM Gord Ash regarding a contract extension. "It's certainly something I am open to, but I honestly haven't thought about it too much yet," Braun told MLB.com regarding an extension. "I'm definitely not opposed to considering whatever they have to say." Braun won the NL Rookie of the Year award last season after hitting .324 with 34 homers, 97 RBI and 15 steals. He'll be making the move from third base to left field in '08.

Brewers general manager Doug Melvin is excited about the year ahead, and he knows one of the tougher changes will be Ryan Braun's move from third base to left field. "That will be a big challenge for him," Melvin tells the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. "He's very athletic, which helps. It'll be important for him to play (in Milwaukee) in the two (exhibition) games when we break camp, to get comfortable there."

With the Mike Cameron acquisition, Ryan Braun will spend most of his time in 2008 in left field - although he'll still open the year at the hot corner with Cameron being suspended for the first 25 games. It remains to be seen just how well Braun can handle the outfield, but the general thought is that his defense there can't be any worse than it was at third base.
