Travis Buck underwent elbow surgery on Monday, and manager Bob Geren said the procedure turned out as well as it could have, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. The best-case-scenario has Buck being fully recovered by October, so there's little doubt that he'll be fine for spring training next year.

Travis Buck will have an operation on Sept. 10 to tighten a loose ligament in his right elbow, according to the AP. He has been on the disabled list since Aug. 20 with a strained left hamstring. Earlier this year, he was on the DL from June 28 to July 14 with a sprained right thumb.

Travis Buck remained sidelined on Sunday due to the hamstring strain he suffered during Friday's game. "I feel better," Buck told the Contra Costa Times. "Things are starting to head in the right direction. It's something you can't push, have got to take as much time as you need to have it heal. It's still sore, but strength-wise it's feeling like it's starting to heal." It sounds like Buck probably is several days away from getting back into game action.
