The Cubs sent Rich Hill back to Triple-A Iowa to make room on the roster for John Koronka. Hill was 0-2 with an 8.57 ERA in seven appearances overall with the Cubs. He started Wednesday's game against Cincinnati and allowed six runs, four hits and four walks in three-plus innings.

As expected, the Cubs recalled Rich Hill from Triple-A Iowa to replace Kerry Wood on the roster and make Monday's start in Wood's place, according to the AP. Hill, who had recorded 62 strikeouts in 43 2/3 innings at Iowa this season, posted a 4.76 ERA in three relief appearances with the Cubs earlier this year.
