The Giants purchased the contract of Jeremy Accardo from Double-A Norwich on Monday. He was 1-0 with four saves and a 0.93 ERA in 9 2/3 innings before his promotion. He had 28 saves last year between Single-A San Jose and Norwich. It's unclear if the Giants intend for Accardo to be a factor in the closer role with Armando Benitez sidelined for the next four months.
