Jack Taschner pitched an effective seventh inning for his second win of the season as the Giants defeated the Phillies 4-3 on Sunday afternoon. Taschner allowed one hit and struck out one in the single frame of work.

Jack Taschner was solid on Wednesday as he held the Cubs hitless over one inning, with two strikeouts and one walk. He lowered his spring ERA to 0.96 and he continues to fight for a spot in the Giants' bullpen.

Jack Taschner is making positive strides in his recovery from a strained shoulder. He was able to throw all of his pitches off a mound on Friday and reported no irritation in the joint, according to the Contra Costa Times. There's a chance he might play Sunday, though it's more likely that he won't return to the mix until early next week.

It looks like the Giants will get Jack Taschner back in action soon. An MRI revealed that he didn't sustain another labrum tear in his shoulder, only a mild strain, according to the Contra Costa Times. It probably will be a few more days before we see him in a game, but he should pitch at some point this week.

The Giants sent Jack Taschner to get an MRI on his sore shoulder this week. The test revealed no significant problems, according to the Contra Costa Times. Barring a setback in his recovery, Taschner could be back in game action next week.
