Matt Garza claimed his first win of 2008 in Thursday's 4-2 win over Baltimore. He only allowed two runs on three hits over six innings, with two walks and three strikeouts. Both earned runs came on an Adam Jones home run.

Right-hander Matt Garza, obtained along with shortstop Jason Bartlett in an offseason trade that sent Delmon Young to Minnesota, made his first start since leaving Tampa Bay's April 8 home opener with what the Rays described as radial nerve irritation in his pitching arm.
