Devine figures to be little more than an arm in the A's bullpen early in the year, but if the team end's up trading Huston Street as has been rumored, Devine could find himself in the closers role for the rebuilding A's.

He threw fastballs past Richie Robnett and Wes Bankston, both for called third strikes. Devine, who is playing for a bad A's team, will be a big part of the bullpen this season. Devine throws his fastball about 95 mph but has command issues.

Devine, Atlanta's 2005 first-round pick, has dealt with injuries and has been hit-or-miss at the big-league level so far. He could be given a shot to close if Oakland ends up trading Huston Street.
