The Reds activated David Weathers from the 15-day disabled list on Monday. The right-hander has appeared in eight games this season, pitched 7.1 innings, walked eight and struck out only one.

David Weathers is expected to return from the DL when eligible on Monday, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer. Weathers, who is recovering from an elbow injury, threw a scoreless inning for Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday. Manager Dusty Baker said, "He didn't feel any discomfort. Reading the report, he said he felt pretty good. There's a good chance."

David Weathers' rehab on his ulnar nerve irritation in his pitching elbow is coming along well, this according to MLB.com. "I'm getting there," Weathers said. "I should be right on schedule."

David Weathers has been placed on the 15-day DL due to ulnar nerve irritation in his right elbow, according to the AP. He said, "You just know when somethings not right. It started on that one pitch, a burning sensation. If you stop, you can catch it early maybe, and I dont want to push it over the edge."

With the signing of Francisco Cordero to handle the ninth inning, Dave Weathers will be moved back into a setup role in 2008. Weathers did save 33 games this year with a 3.59 ERA, but he still doesn't have the stuff of a prototypical closer.
