Scott Mathieson is ready to take another step in his recovery from Tommy John surgery. The pitcher is scheduled to begin a rehab assignment on Monday, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. If all goes well, there's at least a chance that he will be able to make his season debut in September.

Scott Mathieson is less than two weeks away from making a rehab start, the Philadelphia Inquirer notes. Mathieson underwent Tommy John surgery late last September. He could join the Phillies bullpen late this year.
