Kevin Frandsen, who is likely out for the year with an injured left Achilles tendon, has begun walking under controlled conditions, according to MLB.com. "It's tight, but it feels great," he said.
May 15, 2008
Kevin Frandsen has been transferred to the 60-day DL, according to the AP. Frandsen is out for the season recovering from surgery on his ruptured AchillesÂ’ tendon.
March 30, 2008
Kevin Frandsen was placed on the 15-day disabled list, retroactive to March 21, on Sunday. Frandsen struggled early on this spring, and thereafter he suffered torn left Achilles' tendon. Frandsen will not play again this season.
March 24, 2008
Kevin Frandsen might miss the entire season after further injuring his Achilles tendon, possibly rupturing it, this according to the AP. So much for Frandsen being involved heavily this year. With all the injuries on the Giants infield right now, Eugenio Velez appears to have fallen into a starting role with the team. Considering the fact he is raw the road could be bumpy, but Velez has a lot of speed, is hitting the heck out of the ball in spring, and certainly makes an attractive free agent pick up at this point.
March 21, 2008
Manager Bruce Bochy admitted that Kevin Frandsen could be DL-bound to start the year because of a sore Achilles tendon, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. He was in line for plenty of playing time at third, short and second, so this is a bad time for him to get hurt. Eugenio Velez could see more action as a result.
