Manager Dave Trembley noted that Burres will get an extra day off before his next start, in a treatment designed to help him right his woes. Burres has been knocked out before the end of the fifth inning in three straight starts. Burres said, "I'm just still trying to figure stuff out. When I'm behind, the only thing I can really throw for a strike right now is the fastball. And I really don't have one of those fastballs where I can get away with throwing it a lot in fastball counts."

Burres didn't fare well with the O's last year, posting a 5.95 ERA and 1.70 WHIP in 121 innings, though his 7.1 K/9 rate wasn't bad. He shouldn't be drafted even if he wins a starting spot.
