Luis Hernandez could potentially lose his starting role at shortstop, according to MLB.com. He has struggled offensively and defensively in the early going, and Alex Cintron is seen as a possible replacement, if he can get hot at Triple-A Norfolk. Cintron has an established track record as he's tallied nearly 1,900 at-bats in the Major Leagues, while registering a .277 career average and a .401 slugging percentage. He is a switch-hitter as well.

Luis Hernandez failed to make an impact on opening day on Monday, as he went 0-for-2 with a strikeout against Tampa Bay. He started at SS and has very big shoes to fill following the departure of Miguel Tejada to Houston.
