The White Sox have sent Danny Richar to Triple-A Charlotte to begin a rehab assignment, according to the AP. Richar will be seeing his first game action since fracturing a rib cage in spring training.

Danny Richar is being brought along slower than expected to guarantee his recovery from a stress fracture in his rib cage, according to the Chicago Tribune. He has had some complications and isn't expected to start a rehab assigment until at least the third week of May.

Danny Richar has a stress fracture in a rib on his left side and will be sidelined four to six weeks, this according to the Chicago Sun Times. Richar will be held out of baseball activities while the injury heals, and is expected to start the season on the disabled list. With Richar injured, and Juan Uribe in limbo, it appears that Alexei Ramirez is a lock to be the starting second baseman on opening day.
