Brandon Moss was optioned back to Triple-A on Thursday. He had one at-bat in seven at-bats with the Red Sox.

The Red Sox recalled Brandon Moss from the minors on Friday to take the roster spot of Eric Hinske, who was placed on the bereavement list, according to the AP. Moss hit .290 with 13 homers and 67 RBI in 411 at-bats at Triple-A, but he's unlikely to get much playing time with the Sox.
