This is more about his daily routine than just baseball,'' Wedge said. ''He's headed in the right direction; he just needs to keep it going.''

Asdrubal Cabrera will bat seventh against lefty Mark Buehrle on Monday, according to MLB.com. When a right-handed starter is on the bump for the opposing team, Manager Eric Wedge will bat Cabrera second, and left fielder David Dellucci seventh. Wedge commented, "It's subject to change. March 21, 2008
Asdrubal Cabrera went 2-for-2 on Friday in the second spot in the Indians order as he continues to make a case for batting at the top of what should be a potent offense. A ton of the value Cabrera could produce this season is dependent on whether he bats second or eighth. In 159 AB last season he hit .283 with a .354 OBP, but the team doesn't want to burden him with too much in what figures to be his first full season in the bigs, so keep an eye on which direction the team ends up going as it will greatly impact his fantasy value.
March 7, 2008
Manager Eric Wedge is concerned that Asdrubal Cabrera could get overwhelmed in his first full big league campaign, so he's considering dropping Cabrera down to the bottom of the batting order to remove some of the pressure, according to the Cleveland Plain Dealer. "We've talked about moving Asdrubal to the bottom of the order to protect him," Wedge said. "I still think he'll end up being a two-hole hitter. He might be that coming out of spring training." Upon being called up in August, Cabrera took over the No. 2 spot in the order and ran with it, so it's safe to expect him to end up there sooner or later. If Wedge does bump Cabrera down in the batting order early on, David Dellucci, Jason Michaels and Franklin Gutierrez would get a look at the batting second.
