Troy Patton was dealt to Baltimore Wednesday in part of the Miguel Tejada trade. Patton was the prize of the deal for the O's, although he could benefit from some more time in the minors, as he posted a 4.59 ERA in eight Triple-A starts in 2007. His upside is that of a No. 3 starter.

Troy Patton has been shut down for the rest of the season after an MRI revealed a severe case of biceps tendinitis near his left shoulder. "I'm going to come back here Nov. 1 and start a rehab program and get back in shape."

Troy Patton will have an MRI on his left biceps Tuesday. He has not pitched since Sept. 7 because of tendinitis in the biceps, though he did notice nominal improvement during a light tossing session Monday. "A little improvement, but not really" Patton said in the Houston Chronicle. "It's still keeping me from throwing the ball. I'm going to see how I feel today. ... I've dealt with things with the back of my shoulder, but never before in the front. That's why I was worried because there's a lot of tendon and ligaments.

Troy Patton was able to toss a brief session on Friday, according to the Houston Chronicle. How he responds to the session will give an indication as to whether he will be able to return from his biceps tendon injury this season.

Troy Patton, scratched from his scheduled start Wednesday, said team medical director Dr. David Lintner diagnosed him with a biceps tendon injury. He threw the baseball on flat ground Wednesday and will be monitored closely in the coming days. The Astros could shut him down for the rest of the season as a precaution, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Troy Patton will miss tonight's start due to soreness in his pitching arm. Matt Albers will start in Patton's place, according to the Houston Chronicle.

Troy Patton, the Astros top pitching prospect, will be called up to start Saturday against the Pirates, the Houston Chronicle reports. Patton, a 21-year-old lefty, has been ordinary since his promotion to Triple-A eight starts ago (4.59 ERA, 1.12 ratio), and the main reason he's getting this call now is because the Astros just lost Jason Jennings.

The Astros promoted Troy Patton to Triple-A on Tuesday, the Houston Chronicle confirms. Patton, 21, went 6-6 with a 2.99 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 68 strikeouts over 102.1 innings (16 starts) at Double-A this season.
