The Twins suffered the 5-3 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays this evening, giving RHP Kevin Slowey his third loss of the season. Slowey pitched 5 2/3 innings, surrendering three runs (all earned) on five hits, walking two and striking out 5.

According to the Minneapolis Star Tribune, "Right-hander Kevin Slowey will be activated from the 15-day disabled list in time to start Thursday in Chicago against the White Sox while the Twins try to figure out what to do with injured right-hander Scott Baker.

The Twins have called Kevin Slowey their probable starter for Thursday's game against the White Sox, the AP reports. Slowey is on the DL due to a strained right biceps. He made just one start (April 3) in the majors this year but boasts a 2.08 ERA through three minor league outings.

Kevin Slowey will join Triple-A Rochester in time to start on Thursday against Toledo, according to the Star Tribune. Slowey hurled five no-hit innings for Class-A Fort Myers on Saturday, as he continues to recover from a right biceps strain. Jim Rantz (Twins' director of minor leagues) said, "He did very well. He kept the ball down, pitched ahead in the count, did everything perfectly for what he's trying to accomplish."

Kevin Slowey (strained right biceps) threw his second bullpen session without incident on Wednesday and he is close to pitching in a minor league game, this according to MLB.com. "He is going to have to work his way back up and stretch out again," manager Ron Gardenhire said. "We have to make sure everything is okay. But we've got good stuff going with him. He doesn't feel anything and that's where we wanted to get to."

Kevin Slowey has officially been placed on the 15-day DL, according to the AP. He is suffering from arm tightness and Manager Gardenhire stated, "He’s better, but he’s not ready to pitch yet. We want to give him all the time he needs."

Kevin Slowey will be placed on the DL due to a strained right biceps, this according to the AP. The Twins have recalled Francisco Liriano to take Slowey's turn in the rotation on Sunday. The DL move is retroactive to April 4th, Slowey's lone appearance of the year, so he could be back with the Twins within a little over a week if he continues to progress without incident.

Kevin Slowey is still working his way back from an injured biceps muscle as he hasn't picked up a ball since last Thursday, this according to MLB.com. "It feels better now than it did when I hurt it," Slowey said. "I at least know that I'm progressing. Whether I'm 100 percent right now or I'll be 100 percent in a day or two, we'll see." Slowey will throw on Monday and Tuesday to see if he will be available to make a start this Sunday in Kansas City.

Kevin Slowey will skip his next start because of a strained right biceps that forced him to leave Thursday’s game, according to the AP. “We’ve got time here,” manager Ron Gardenhire said. “He’ll miss his next start and we’ve got time after that and we’ll see where he’s at.” Gardenhire said the Twins would wait to see how Slowey progresses over the next week before deciding whether a DL stint is necessary. The manager also said they would not rush Francisco Liriano back to take Slowey's place.

Kevin Slowey will likely miss at least one start due to a right biceps strain. He will be re-evaluated after that. "It's nothing serious but certainly nothing that we want to mess around with," Slowey tells the Minneapolis Star Tribune. "I'll keep it in ice and follow the trainers the next couple days and see how it goes." We're not sure who will start in Slowey's place. Francisco Liriano may be at the top of the list, but the team could also look to Brian Bass or Glen Perkins.

Kevin Slowey went down with what is initially being called a right biceps strain, according to the Star Tribune. He left today’s start against the Angels in the fourth inning with an apparent injury. He will be re-evaluated on Friday, and Francisco Liriano would be a possible choice to take Slowey’s spot in the rotation if the injury is serious. More should be known shortly.

Kevin Slowey said he felt better, one day after pitching with flu symptoms against the Pirates, according to the Star Tribune. The report notes that the Twins rotation to will include: Livan Hernandez, Boof Bonser, Nick Blackburn, Slowey and Scott Baker.

Kevin Slowey was told before his Tuesday outing that he will start the third game of the season for the Twins on April 2, according to MLB.com. He was riding high early in his Tuesday start, retiring the first 11 batters he faced, but he ended up giving up four runs on six hits over five innings or action against the Pirates. Now that he's earned the spot, he'll have to perform well to keep it.

Kevin Slowey is still in the mix to grab a spot in the Twins starting rotation after a solid outing on Monday, this according to MLB.com. Slowey threw three scoreless innings during which time he struck out three and gave up six hits, a great improvement over his work in his first two outings. "It's a confidence thing with him," Gardenhire said. "He's got good stuff. He's just got to quit overthrowing the ball and use [all of his pitches] and trust them all." Slowey appears to be battling Phil Humber, Glen Perkins and Kevin Mulvey for the fifth spot in the rotation, and the battle figures to go down to the wire.

Kevin Slowey allowed three runs and five hits in two innings of action on Wednesday for the Twins. Slowey also walked two batters on the day. Slowey has now struggled in back-to-back outings as he has had trouble locating his pitches thus far. Still, Slowey figures to be in the lead for the Twins final rotation spot so unless his struggles continue he figures to open the year as the team's number five hurler.

Kevin Slowey gave up three runs on four hits and two walks in 1 2/3 innings Friday. Back-to-back homers by Kevin Youkilis and Jason Varitek accounted for the tallies against the right-hander. Slowey is the front-runner to land the last spot in the Twins rotation, but Philip Humber or Nick Blackburn could slip in if he has too many more outings like this.
