Carlos Gomez doesn't believe the strained left hamstring he sustained last night will keep him out for long, according to the New York Daily News. "I don't think I will be out for a long time - maybe two or three days," Gomez said. "I felt like it stretched - not pulled. That's why I can walk now. I feel only a little pain when I do squats. I feel like normal." With Shawn Green injured, too, the Mets are short on outfielders. Look for Ben Johnson to be called up and Gomez or, more likely, Green to head to the disabled list.

The Mets called up Carlos Gomez from Triple-A on Sunday to provide some insurance for Moises Alou, who is dealing with a quadriceps injury, according to the AP. He got the start in right field for the club on Sunday, going 2-for-4 with two runs scored and a stolen base. Gomez was hitting .286 with two homers and 17 steals prior to his promotion.
