Ian Kennedy (strained lat) will not be back in time to pitch one end of the June 27 doubleheader against the Mets, this according to the New York Daily News.
June 9, 2008
Ian Kennedy just completed his first bullpen session since straining his right lat muscle last month, according to MLB.com. He threw around 30 pitches under the watchful eyes of pitching coach Dave Eiland and bullpen coach Mike Harkey. Limited to only fastballs and changeups, Kennedy finished with his right arm feeling fine. Kennedy said, "It feels back to normal again. It was a very average bullpen, but it felt good, at least. It kind of felt weird throwing on the mound, because I've been throwing on flat ground for the past week, but it felt good to be out there on the mound."

June 3, 2008
Ian Kennedy, recovering from a strained right lat, made 35 throws while playing catch from 60 feet Tuesday, according to MLB.com. Kennedy said he didn't feel anything during the throwing session, and he's been relatively pain-free since Thursday. "Thursday, I felt a little something there because that was our first day of really stretching it out, trying to rub things out," Kennedy said. "On Friday, it felt significantly better. Saturday, it felt really good, and Sunday even better."

Ian Kennedy was officially placed on the DL Wednesday. He has bursitis behind his scapular, as well as a right lat muscle strain.
