Wilkin Ramirez said he hopes to miss just a week or two due to his partially dislocated shoulder, according to the Detroit Free Press. Unfortunately, that should be enough time missed to keep him from making the Tigers roster, despite hitting .438 over 16 spring at-bats.

Updating an earlier story, Wilkin Ramirez , injuring his shoulder diving for a line drive on Friday, appears to be done for the remainder of spring training but should be available for the regular season, according to MLB.com. The partially dislocated shoulder was popped back into place but muscles in that area have been stretched and will need time to heal. There wasn't an expectation that Ramirez would make the major-league roster, but his performance in these early games have been impressive and the team had hopes he could surprise. Now the plan has him starting in Double-A Erie and working his way towards health and Detroit.

Wilkin Ramirez injured his left shoulder while diving for a line drive during Friday's exhibition game, according to MLB.com. There wasn't an immediate diagnosis regarding the severity of the injury. The prospect has had injury issues in the past, so let's hope this is minor. Ramirez wasn't going to make the Tigers roster this spring, regardless.
