Florida RHP Burke Badenhop didn't work too deep into the start, but his effort was enough to garner the win, beating the Milwaukee Brewers 6-2. Badenhop pitched 5 2/3 innings, allowing two runs (both earned) on five hits while walking just one and striking out seven.

The Marlins have purchased the contract of Burke Badenhop from Double-A Carolina. Badenhop, who came over from Detroit in the Miguel Cabrera trade this winter, held a 1.88 ERA in 14 1/3 innings this spring, though that also came along with an ugly 6/7 K/BB rate. He threw 6 1/3 scoreless innings in his lone start for Carolina this year. Badenhop is expected to start for the Fish on Sunday.

The Marlins won't be shy about calling up pitcher Burke Badenhop, MLB.com reports. The 25-year-old right-hander picked up a Double-A win on Thursday night, and he posted a 1.88 ERA over 14.1 innings this spring. He came over in the offseason deal with the Tigers. Badenhop only worked three games at Double-A in 2007, but it's not like the Marlins have a bunch of starters locked into the rotation. This is a name to know in NL-only leagues, although he's not expected to be a high strikeout guy.
