Andy Pettitte has agreed to a one-year, $16 million deal with the Yankees, according to ESPN.com. The deal includes a $16 million player option for 2008. Pettitte of course pitched for the Yankees from 1995-2003, helping them win four World Series during his tenure.

ESPNews is reporting that Andy Pettitte will in fact pitch in 2007. It was reported in early November that the veteran hurler was leaning toward's retirement. Pettitte's primary suitors are the Astros and Yankees.

Andy Pettitte indicated Friday that he's leaning toward retiring after playing 12 seasons, according to the New York Times. "If I had to make a decision right now, it would probably be not to play," Pettitte said. He added that he wants to make a decision about his future soon.
