Skip Caray, voice of the Braves for 30+ years, passes away
Atlanta, GA (Sports Network) - Longtime Atlanta Braves broadcaster Skip Caray died at his home in his sleep on Sunday, he was 68.

Inducted into the Braves Hall of Fame in 2005, Caray began his broadcasting career in St. Louis with a 15-minute high school sports show and as a sportscaster for high school basketball games. He later joined his father, legendary broadcaster Harry Caray, as a color commentator for Missouri football. He joined the NBA's St. Louis Hawks broadcasting team in 1967, moving to Atlanta with the team the following year.

Manager Bobby Cox suggested that Chipper Jones might be limited to pinch-hitting duty when he initially returns from the DL Friday, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution. Cox said, "We'll see what happens. He might not be able to play right away. He might have to pinch-hit him for a few games." He was recovering from a left hamstring strain.
