San Francisco Giants 2007 Preview

Philadelphia PA (Sports Network) - The National League West Division was virtually up for grabs for much of the 2006 season, however the Padres and Dodgers separated themselves from the pack late in the year, while the Giants were one of the teams that struggled down the stretch. When all was said and done, San Francisco finished in third place, 11 1/2 games back of the NL West- Champion Padres.

Steve Holm was pulled from today's lineup at catcher due to illness, according to MLB.com. Manager Bruce Bochy thought Holm had a touch of food poisoning.

Infielder Travis Denker has been recalled from Triple-A Fresno, according to the AP. The team also optioned second baseman Eugenio Velez to Fresno.
