Jamaal Tinsley said on Friday he still doesn't know when he'll be able to play again, according to the Indianapolis Star. Tinsley's still battling an ailing knee. With his extensive injury history, there's a realistic chance that he won't play again this season, but you never know. If the Pacers follow through with their plan to sign Flip Murray, it's likely a sign they don't expect Tinsley back anytime soon.

Jamaal Tinsley will be sidelined until after the All-Star game because of his injured knee. "They saw some inflammation in (the knee)," Tinsley said after an MRI was performed. "It's something they say will have me out a couple of more games, hopefully until right after the All-Star break, but I really don't know right now." Tinsley has already missed five of the last 11 games with the injury, and though he is shooting just 38.0% from the field, it certainly is darn near impossible to replace the 8.4 assists he has averaged through 39 games this season. Jamaal Tinsley came off the bench Tuesday for the third straight game since returning from a sore knee. He played just 18 minutes and was limited to only two assists and eight points. Travis Diener has been holding his own, starting in place of Tinsley, which has allowed the Pacers to ease Tinsley back into the mix. On the other hand, the Pacers now have lost seven straight games, so we may see Tinsley starting again soon. Let's hope that's the case, since Tinsley has basically no fantasy value in his current limited role.
February 3, 2008
Pacers coach Jim O'Brien plans to watch Jamaal Tinsley closely, as the point guard works his way back from a sore knee, because he doesn't want Tinsley to miss a large chunk of this season like he has in previous campaigns, according to the Indianapolis Star. "When Jamaal came back off the inactive list, he had missed 10 out of 21 games," Pacers coach Jim O'Brien said. "I'm concerned. Not last year, but the previous two years, he missed half the games. I'm concerned about his ability to sustain this season when again he comes back and tweaks his knee in the first half. He's been fighting knee difficulties all year." Tinsley came off the bench again Saturday, playing 21 minutes. He should resume starting soon, but his injury concerns are legitimate.
