Gilbert Arenas underwent surgery Wednesday to repair a partial tear in his left meniscus and the injury is expected to keep him out at least three months, the Washington Post reports. Arenas originally tore the meniscus in the knee last April 3 and had surgery a few days later. The re-injury happened during Friday night's game at Minnesota but Arenas does not remember if it took place on a specfic play. "Everything just started hurting after the game," Arenas said. "The pain came out of nowhere." A statement from the doctor who perfomed the surgery: "I repaired a partial tear of Gilbert's left medial meniscus," said Dr. Marc Connell, the team physician. "In addition, he had a non-weight bearing articular surface defect in the trochlea treated by microfracture. We are optimistic that he will be able to return to action in three months."

Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas missed his second consecutive game on Tuesday night, a surprise considering he had three days of rest. "He's just not ready to play," coach Eddie Jordan told the AP. "He doesn't feel that his knee is capable of being good tonight, so we're going to give him another day."

Gilbert Arenas is battling stiffness in his surgically repaired left knee, the AP reports. He was also held to 10 points against Orlando Saturday. "It feels like a 5-pound weight is on it," Arenas said after the loss. He might get the knee drained before the next Washington game, Thursday at New Jersey.

Gilbert Arenas and Antonio Daniels both missed Sunday’s preseason game due to minor injuries, but both players are expected to suit up for the Wizards on Tuesday against Chicago, the Washington Post reported. Arenas is still working his way back from last season’s knee injury, while Daniels has a mild left ankle sprain.

"I’ve started making cuts on the court, slowly," Arenas said. "I like to say I'm 'keeping a San Antonio pace.' Pretty soon I'll be able to go full throttle."

"To me, it's just a smarter business decision to play next season, opt out and then be able to sign a long-term deal that is going to keep me in one place," said Arenas. First, Agent Zero will have to get over his surgically repaired knee and return to form as one of the top offensive forces in the game. If he can do that, though, he would command a lot of attention on the free-agent market.

Gilbert Arenas admitted recently that he's been bothered by a sore shoulder since Dec. 30, according to the Washington Post. He had his right clavicle adjusted by a chiropractor yesterday. "He said it was pushed in and that's why I didn't have my normal range of motion," Arenas said. "So he messed around with it, popped something back into place and it feels a lot better." This could help explain Arenas' shooting slump in recent weeks, and hopefully he can turn it around now.
