Nuggets forward Nene Hilario can participate in full practices starting on Friday and has already been cleared by team doctors to start ballhandling and shooting drills, the AP reported. Nene tore the ulnar collateral ligament in his left thumb on November 7.

Nene Hilario is expected to miss up to six weeks because of a torn ligament in his left thumb, according to the AP. He suffered the injury on Wednesday against Boston. Nene will undergo surgery on Friday, at which point we'll have a better idea of when he'll be able to return.

Nuggets forward Nene Hilario left Wednesday’s game in the first quarter with a sprained left thumb and did not return, the Denver Post reported. X-rays were negative, but he traveled back to Denver to meet with doctors on Thursday. He will miss the Nuggets’ next two games on Friday and Saturday.

Nuggets forward Nene Hilario told the Estado de S. Paulo newspaper he will be released to play for Brazil in the Americas Olympic qualifying tournament in Las Vegas, according to the Associated Press. Nene wasn’t certain he would be able to play as Denver negotiated an insurance policy with the Brazilian Basketball Confederation in case Nene suffers an injury. Nene said the contract was not finalized yet, but said Nuggets officials guaranteed he will be released.
