Player Notes
April 29, 2008
T.J. Ford is under contract for at least two more years, but the Raptors may not bring him back for the 2008-09 season, the Toronto Star reports. The club is intent on signing restricted free agent Jose Calderon, who often outplayed Ford this season.

T.J. Ford helped the Raptors to cut the Magic's series lead to 2-1 thanks to 21 points and five rebounds in Game 3.
April 24, 2008
T.J. Ford will retain his starting spot in the Raptors lineup for Game 3 even after going just 2-for-17 from the field in the first two games, according to the AP. “I know I haven’t been making shots but, as a point guard, you can still affect the game in some way, even if you’re not making shots."
April 2, 2008
T.J. Ford brought the energy to the floor but his efforts as one of three players scoring 20+ for the Raptors fell short as Toronto suffered the 120-127 loss to the Atlanta Hawks. Ford went 11-of-20 from the floor to score 23 points with 13 assists. This was Ford's first double-double outing since February 10th, indicating the inconsistent results from a position you would hope to provide more assists throughout the season.
March 27, 2008
T.J. Ford , who scored 13 points, recorded nine helpers, and pulled down five rebounds, started his first game since December 11th. Ford played 29 minutes in Wednesday's win over the Pistons. Head coach Sam Mitchell, completely distraught over the Raptors fold-job to Denver this past week, is making wholesale changes. Toronto had lost 11 of 14 games coming into tonight's big victory over Detroit. Expect Ford to remain in the starting lineup, but his minutes will be monitored after a suffering serious head trauma earlier in the year.
March 26, 2008
The Raptors have moved T.J. Ford back into the starting lineup, the Toronto Star reports. Ford hasn't started since December 11, when he suffered back and neck injuries and missed the next 24 games. He has averaged 14.7 points, 7.2 assists, and 1.3 steals in his 14 starts this year and is worth adding to fantasy lineups.
March 26, 2008
The Raptors are thinking about benching Jose Calderon and placing T.J. Ford in the starting lineup, the Globe and Mail reports. The speculated move could be a blow to fantasy teams who have counted heavily on Calderon and his 8.4 assists per game.
February 27, 2008
T.J. Ford is starting to look like his old self the last two games, but that doesn't mean he's demanding to return to the starting lineup in place of Jose Calderon. In fact, Ford expressed the opposite to the Toronto Sun. "I think Jose is doing a good job as a starter, he should continue to start probably for the rest of the year," Ford said. "I don't think starting is a big deal to me, I just want to get out and help the team win, and at the end of the day it's all about wins and losses." It really doesn't matter who starts between the two, because they're likely to split the minutes pretty evenly. Calderon is the better fantasy option right now, despite Ford outplaying him the last two contests.
February 20, 2008
T.J. Ford missed his second straight game Wednesday with an abdominal strain, according to the AP. He's considered day-to-day for now. The Raps next game is Friday.
February 20, 2008
T.J. Ford remains day-to-day due to the abdominal strain he suffered in practice on Monday, according to the Toronto Star. Ford failed to take part in Tuesday's practice, and will not suit up for Wednesday's game. It's probably wise to keep Ford pined until he gets in some good performances over the course of several games.
February 19, 2008
T.J. Ford suffered a slight abdominal strain in practice Monday. The injury could keep Ford from playing Wednesday night. "If he can go, he can go," coach Sam Mitchell said in the Toronto Star. "If not, we do what we've always done – go to Plans B and C.". Plan B is Jose Calderon, who has been terrific this year while filling in when Ford's been injured.
February 13, 2008
T.J. Ford is being listed as questionable for Wednesday night with a wrist injury that kept him out of practice on Tuesday according to the Toronto Sun. Ford was limited to just nine minutes on Monday night and he is officially being called day-to-day due to the injury. Ford has been unable to recapture his early season form since returning from a two month absence for an injured shoulder/neck, so this latest setback just adds to his woes.
February 5, 2008
As expected, T.J. Ford returned to action for Monday night's tilt with the Heat after a 24-game hiatus due to a neck injury. He entered the contest early in the second quarter and finished the game with four points, four assists and two swipes in 17 minutes of work. Ford has a narrowing of the spine in his neck and remains one bad spill away from sitting out for another extensive period or even calling it a career. Ford's going to have to battle Jose Calderon for minutes at the point, but he's worth owning in all leagues, because of his talent and potential. It's not clear when, or if, Ford will resume his starting role over Calderon.
February 4, 2008
T.J. Ford, who hasn't played since he was taken off the floor on a stretcher on Dec. 11, is expected to dress for tonight's game against the Heat, according to the Toronto Star. "I think I'm going to give it a shot tonight," said Ford. "I feel like I'm 100 per cent coming in to playing. I think I can come out and help the team. I think I'm ready to play, so I'll come in early, break a sweat."
January 30, 2008
Raptors point guard T.J. Ford is nearing a return to the practice court after missing the last 22 games with a left arm stinger, stemming from spinal stenosis (a narrowing of the openings of the vertebra the spinal cord runs through). Ford has not played since December 11, after Hawks rookie Al Horford knocked him onto the floor and he was later carried off on a stretcher.
January 10, 2008
Raptors guard T.J. Ford was cleared to resume workouts on Wednesday after seeing a spine specialist in Cleveland, the AP reported. When exactly Ford would begin working out again is up in the air, and there is also no timetable for his return to the Raptors. He will return to Houston and work out with former NBA player John Lucas. The two worked out together when Ford was injured in 2004.

Raptors guard T.J. Ford, who hasn’t played since December 11 due to a neck injury, announced on the Fan 590 on Thursday that he is pain-free and plans to return to the lineup in the near future, the National Post reported. “I’m feeling good,” Ford said. “My body has recovered all the way and I’m not having any symptoms. I’m not waking up sore anymore and I’m not having pain throughout the day.”
