Chris Paul is expected to be out at least four weeks because of a sprained ankle he suffered in Thursday's game, according to Sports Network. "The injury to Chris is unfortunate, especially in light of the fact that we've been without three of our top players in Peja Stojakovic, David West and Bobby Jackson for an extended period," said Hornets general manager Jeff Bower.

Chris Paul is expected to miss at least the next two or three games due to the sprained ankle he sustained on Tuesday, according to the Times-Picayune. "Right now we have to re-evaluate the next couple of days and see if the swelling goes down," coach Byron Scott said. "That's the main thing. We've got to get the swelling out of there. It's just a matter of how quickly he can heal, but I don't know how tentative he'll be on that ankle."

Chris Paul missed Wednesday's game against the Blazers due to a sprained right ankle suffered on Tuesday, according to the AP. Paul turned the ankle when he stepped on the foot of Sonics center Johan Petro. There is no timetable for his return yet.

X-rays taken of the ankle that Chris Paul sprained last night came back negative, according to the Times-Picayune. It looked pretty bad, but the Hornets haven't set a timetable for his return yet. More should be known after he's examined today. Look for Jannero Pargo to start if Paul misses any action.

The Hornets picked up the third-year option on Chris Paul Wednesday, according to the Oklahoman. Paul is guaranteed $3.38 million this season and $3.6 million next. "Chris has exceeded all expectations both on and off the court since we drafted him, and we're pleased to have him officially under contract through the 2007-08 season," said Hornets general manager Jeff Bower. "We envision him as the cornerstone of this franchise for years to come."

Chris Paul, who is still recovering from bruised ribs, a bruised shoulder and a bruised tailbone, sat out most of Saturday's practice, according to the Oklahoman. He is expected to play on Monday.

The AP reports that Chris Paul returned from his bruised ribs Wednesday but left the game for good midway through the third quarter with an apparent shoulder injury after colliding with Ha Seung-Jin. Paul started and played 22 minutes, scoring only one point but adding five rebounds, seven assists and two steals. He had missed the previous three games with the injury.

"I just hope I can be ready," Paul said about his chances of playing in the All-Star events. "I think I will be, but it's about our team and our season. Chris Paul did not practice Thursday and will likely sit out the next two games to recover from his bruised ribs and sore neck, according to the New Orleans Times-Picayune. "Right now, he's pretty banged up, and I know how bad he wants to play. A 70 percent Chris Paul is better than the guys we have playing point," coach Byron Scott said. "We can't risk that. I think it would be to his best interest to sit out the next two games and then see how he feels on Monday."
