Amir Johnson played 20 minutes in a pretty tight game against the Sonics on Tuesday, scored five points, pulled down eight boards, stole two balls and blocked two shots. The Pistons were able to give some of their younger players some extra action tonight, so vets Rasheed Wallace and Antonio McDyess could rest up for Wednesday's throwdown with the C's. Johnson doesn't see regular enough action to warrant a roster spot now, but if the Pistons clinch their playoff spot, the talented, 20-year-old Johnson could provide some decent big-man numbers during the final week or so of the season.

Pistons forward Amir Johnson practiced on Monday for the first time since spraining his left ankle more than two weeks ago. Coach Flip Saunders told the Detroit Free Press that if Johnson is cleared to play in the Pistons final exhibition game on Wednesday, he will log heavy minutes.

Injured Pistons Amir Johnson and Nazr Mohammed should both be back this week. The Detroit Free Press reported that Mohammed will test his sore calf on Tuesday, while Johnson, who has not participated since the first week of practice due to a sprained ankle, could possibly play Wednesday against the Nuggets.
