Shavlik Randolph picked up the one-year option on his contract with the 76ers last week, the AP reported. Randolph is trying to come back from a broken and dislocated left ankle, which limited him to 13 games last year. The former Duke star, who signed as an undrafted free agent with the Sixers before the 2005 season, said he will play in summer league games if he feels good enough to play as he still recovers from his injury. “It’s taken a whole lot longer than I thought it would, but not anyone else,” Randolph said. “All the doctors thought it would take this long.”

Shavlik Randolph, who is recovering from a dislocated left ankle, has started shooting again and hiopes to return to action next month, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. "We never knew how long he was actually going to be out," coach Maurive Cheeks said. "We knew it was going to take a while. That was a pretty gruesome injury. We have included him in all our team meetings, and he's around every day. So to have a guy being included in everything we're doing is great."
