Despite drafting Courtney Lee and signing Mickael Pietrus, J.J. Redick will remain with the Orlando Magic, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "I still think the kid can play for us. I feel no differently about him today than I felt yesterday and the day before. I feel he can be a very good backup 2-guard for us," said Magic GM Otis Smith.

J.J. Redick isn't likely to be dealt by the Magic, according to the Orlando Sentinel. GM Otis Smith said, "We're not looking to move J.J. If it doesn't make sense, we're not going to move him just to move him. He wants to play, and rightfully so. He thinks he hasn't been given the opportunity."

J.J. Redick wants more playing time next season, as reported by the Sun Sentinel. Redick played in just 34 games this season and saw limited minutes in two postseason contests for Orlando, which was eliminated Monday by Detroit in the Eastern Conference semifinals. Redick said, "I want to play. There were a lot of things that were said last summer and in the preseason, and I thought I was going to play. It didnt happen." The team thinks he is a good player, but just envisions him as a backup shooting guard.

Magic general manager Otis Smith is open to trading J.J. Redick this offseason, the Orlando Sentinel reports. Redick has two years remaining on his rookie contract.

J.J. Redick has been placed on the inactive list by the Magic on Wednesday, according to Florida Today. The team stated the reason to be tendinitis in Redick's left foot. Forward James Augustine was added to the active roster.

The normal starters for the Orlando Magic got limited playing time as the playoffs approach, giving former college star and backup PG J.J. Redick an opportunity to shine. Redick went 7-of-14 from the floor and 4-of-8 from the three-point line to score 18 points.

J.J. Redick played 16 minutes and scored 10 points during Wednesday's game, but you can expect him to return to his usual spot in the DNP section of the box score. "It was not any grand plan. We were just searching," said Magic coach Stan Van Gundy, according to the Orlando Sentinel. "The guys who had been playing weren't playing great anyway, so then you give somebody else a chance. You give some minutes to J.J." Redick has been a total bust since being taken 11th overall in 2006. And while the Magic continue to say they believe in his skills, they don't believe in him enough to actually use him in games. Neither should you.

J.J. Redick doesn't see the floor much for the Magic, but the team insists it's not because of a lack of talent. "I don't think it's a matter of him not being able to play," general manager Otis Smith tells The Ledger. "He's capable of playing in this league, and capable of playing on this team. We just have to create spot for him... He has to wait his turn."
