Rookie Al Thornton continues to progress as a professional basketball player, going 13-of-23 from the floor, 3-of-6 from the three-point line, and 10-of-12 from the free-throw line to score 39 points (a new career high) with three rebounds, two assists, and whopping FIVE steals on the evening. Thornton wasn’t getting much time on the floor, but recent battles have pushed the Clippers to give their talented young rookie a shot. In his last three games, he’s scored a combined 63 points with 14 combined rebounds. It’s still too early to tell, but games like this suggest the talent is certainly there.
March 26, 2008
Al Thornton led the Clippers with 21 points in a losing effort against the Spurs, 97-88. He also led the team with seven boards. That was a good bounce back game for him as he was only averaging 6.25 points over his previous four contests.

It's possible that rookie standout, Al Thornton , is hitting the proverbial rookie wall. In 40 minutes of action on Friday night against the Trail Blazers, Clippers' rookie forward Al Thornton scored just five points on a horrific 2-of-10 shooting. Thornton hasn't been a full-time starter this year but his 12 points and 4 rebounds per game have garnered the rookie attention in fantasy circles.
March 20, 2008
The Clippers may have suffered another loss, but Al Thornton put his best foot forward against the Golden State Warriors. The rookie played nearly 45 minutes, posting 24 points with 13 rebounds, two assists, and a steal. Thornton is going to be a bright note for the Clippers in the years to come and tonight is just a flash of his full potential. He’ll be a key ingredient in the Clippers climb back to prevalence, but for now, he is too volatile for fantasy responsibilities.
March 17, 2008
Al Thornton is questionable for Monday night action with a deep thigh bruise, according to NBA.com. He is averaging 12 points and 4.2 boards over 24.8 minutes a game and he will be missed if he cannot go tonight.
