As expected, Theo Ratliff has signed a one-year deal with the Sixers worth $1.4 million, according to the AP. GM Ed Stefanski said, "We are fortunate to sign a player of Theos caliber. He is a consummate professional, both on the court and off, who will provide us with additional depth in the frontcourt while also serving as a mentor to some of our younger players."

Theo Ratliff will sign with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to the Philadelphia Inquirer. He is expected to receive the veteran's minimum, $1.4 million, for one season.

With second-year big man Jason Smith likely out for the season after suffering a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, an unsubstantiated report surfaced that the Sixers had reached out to former Sixers center/forward Theo Ratliff with an offer to play for the veterans' minimum, according to ESPN.com.

As expected, the Pistons signed Theo Ratliff to a contract Tuesday after he cleared waivers, following his release from the T-Wolves on Thursday, according to the AP. Ratliff can still block shots at a high rate, but he won't see enough game action to have any fantasy value.

The Pistons are expected to bring Theo Ratliff back into the fold by inking him to a contract for the remainder of the season once he clears waivers on Saturday, according to the Detroit Free Press. He was released by the T-Wolves Thursday evening. He was a fantasy stud as a shot-blocker in his prime. But this time, Ratliff will only see spot duty and carry no fantasy value at all.

Theo Ratliff, who has missed all but six games because of a right knee injury this year, practiced Wednesday and hopes to play by the end of the month, according to the Boston Globe. Ratliff continues to progress in his rehab from December knee surgery.

Theo Ratliff said he's optimistic that he will be able to practice in a limited fashion sometime this week. The veteran hasn't played since having surgery on Dec. 18 to repair a torn meniscus. "I'm really just playing it by ear," Ratliff said in the Pioneer Press. "Probably in the next couple days I'll try to get out there on the floor and do some stuff with the guys. It's been fine so far as far as recovering. I'm just continuing to try to progress."

Theo Ratliff has been off his crutches for about 7-10 days, according to the St. Paul Pioneer Press. Although the T-Wolves haven't announced a specific timetable for his return from knee surgery, we won't likely see him back on the court until sometime next month.
