With his right knee still healing from offseason arthroscopic surgery, Kings forward Shareef Abdur-Rahim will take at least three weeks off to rest, the AP reported. Abdur-Rahim was a strong candidate to start at power forward this season.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim had cleanup surgery Tuesday on his right knee. According to the AP, Abdur-Rahim had loose bodies removed from his knee. His recovery will take several weeks, but he is expected to be ready for training camp in October.

Shareef Abdur-Rahim missed Wednesday's game with a sore right knee. The Sacramento Bee reports that Abdur-Rahim is expected to return on Saturday.
