Steve Nash tied a career high with 42 points (14-of-25 FG) in the Suns 144-139 OT loss to the Wizards on Friday night. Nash added seven triples and 12 dimes to his monster scoring total.

Steve Nash had a monster night in the Suns’ wild 161-157 win over the Nets Thursday night. Nash scored a career high 42 points on 16-for-25 shooing from the field, dished out 13 assists, and added six rebounds and six triples.

When asked if his back issues were behind him, Steve Nash, who returned Monday after missing two games, said, "I hope so. I think we're on top of it now. I think every day we can work on it to make it better." According to the Arizona Republic, Suns coach Mike D'Antoni said he does not necessarily need to limit Nash's minutes, but he would like to change how much Nash has to do with others picking up the playmaking.

It's not clear whether Steve Nash will be able to play tonight after missing last night's run due to a strained back, according to the Arizona Republic. "He's doing better," Suns head athletic trainer Aaron Nelson said before Friday's game. "He's questionable for (tonight). The fact that we're flying (overnight) is going to be a big issue. If we can keep him where he's at, it'd be good."

Steve Nash was scratched from Friday's starting lineup due to his ailing back. He tweaked his back when he slipped in practice Monday and was sore after practicing Thursday. He's had problems with his lower back and hip in recent years, so this could be an ongoing concern throughout the season. Leandro Barbosa started in place of Nash at the point.

His knee has improved, and he has played through a painful hamstring in the past. "It's just uncomfortable and it slows you down a little bit," Nash said. "It's frustrating, but it's manageable...I really don't think it's going to be an issue."
