Jermaine O'Neal will attempt to practice Saturday, which could clear the way for a return to game action on Sunday. "He has to be ready to practice," coach Jim O'Brien told the Indianapolis Star. "It's difficult to just play games and not practice. Jermaine knows how important he is to our team on the practice floor and also in games. He also knows why having this swelling in this leg makes it hard to practice; you almost can't. If you're not practicing, you're not really playing to your capabilities." He's battling a swollen knee and will need to get medical clearance before playing in a game.

Jermaine O'Neal is out indefinitely with swelling in his left knee, the Indianapolis Star reports. The injury kept him out of Wednesday's game at New Orleans. "It doesn't help him or help us to have him on the court at 60 percent," head coach Jim O'Brien said. "We have to get him corrected and we'll do whatever we have to do to get that done." O'Neal said he will undergo an MRI on his knee Friday.

Jermaine O'Neal still is working his way back from offseason knee surgery. "It's not quite there," he told the Indianapolis Star. "I've lost some strength in it because of the surgery. It's something I can regain. I'm playing on the run because you have to go through the bumps and bruises with the swelling. I'm trying to play through it and help the team." He doesn't plan to sit out to rest the joint, but most fantasy leaguers probably have him on their bench. He's averaging just 13.1 points, while hitting only 39.7 percent from the floor. That makes him a decent buy-low guy, but you shouldn't expect a return to his previous form as a top-end big man.
